Environmental Achievement of the Year – Propulsion System Design
To recognize the increasingly prominent role of sustainability in the maritime sector, three categories focused on environmental development.
The first environmental award was won by Genevos for the H2-Pack solutions provided for the America’s Cup chase boat.
“We are extremely proud to be recognized for the key role our team actioned in the delivery of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli America’s Cup full-hydrogen chase boat, enabling 50kts speeds!” said Rebecca Sharp, CEO and co-founder of Genevos. “This all-important trophy reflects the successful delivery of the Genevos Complete H2-Pack of solutions, which included not only the delivery of two plug-and-play HPMs but also integration and commissioning services, specifically managing the hydrogen storage and gas management, including the safety management strategy, all validated by maritime classification society Lloyd’s Register!”
Environmental Achievement of the Year – Vessel Design
The next award of the night went to E-Force Marine, which impressed the jury with the Aurora e30. The cutting-edge electric, high-efficiency catamaran has been specified to minimize environmental impact in every aspect of its design and operation.
“We’re honored to win this award,” said founder and CEO Al Haghayegh. “It all started when I decided to convert my own boat to electric. I just wanted something cleaner, quieter, and more fun on the water. That simple idea turned into E-Force Marine, and eventually the Aurora e30. Our goal wasn’t just to build an electric boat, but to create something that’s truly better for the environment and for the boating experience. Getting this kind of recognition on a global stage tells us we’re on the right path. This wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team.”
Environmental Achievement of the Year – Industry Contribution
The third environmental award of the evening was presented in conjunction with association partner IEMA. The winner was the Electric Seaway project, led by Aqua superPower and ZPN Energy, alongside key partners including the University of Plymouth; South Hams District Council; Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council; and the UK Harbour Masters Association. The project has officially established eight new charging sites to support the growing fleet of electric maritime vessels on the south coast of the UK.
“On behalf of Aqua superPower and our incredible consortium partners, we are deeply honored to accept this award,” said Karen Gill, COO of Aqua superPower. “The Electric Seaway project represents more than just innovation – it’s a bold step toward a cleaner, more sustainable maritime future. With the support of the UK government and our dedicated collaborators, we are building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of electric vessels and help realize the ambitions of Maritime 2050. This recognition is a testament to the power of partnership, vision and the shared commitment to decarbonizing our waters.”
