Sunpower Yachts International has announced the launch of the Sunpower Solar-eJET 3.3m Inflatable Tender – a vessel it claims to be the world’s first solar e-jet tender designed to be seamlessly recharged directly from the yacht’s solar energy system.
“The Sunpower Solar-eJET tender marks a turning point in clean marine innovation,” said Grant Hudson, executive director of Sunpower Yachts. “No more trailing fuel cans or relying on marina power. Now your tender is as self-sufficient as your yacht – powered by the sun, always ready to go.”
The Solar-eJET is engineered for direct integration with Sunpower’s solar energy system. When stowed in its dedicated tender bay, a built-in connection point allows the tender to plug straight into the yacht’s solar charging port with no separate chargers, cables, or setup required. This interface ensures the tender’s battery is continuously topped up from the yacht’s solar array.
The tender features a 10kWh lithium battery pack, and is powered by a 22kW (30hp equivalent) advanced jet drive.
The fully electric inflatable tender is suited for beach landings, water sports, or exploration, and features a high-performance brushless DC motor with liquid cooling. It is currently available for immediate order by Sunpower Yacht purchasers only. A limited number of standalone orders will also be accepted for compatible solar electric yachts.
