On June 24, 25 & 26, 2025, Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe, the world’s leading exhibition and conference for maritime electrification, decarbonization and GHG reduction solutions, will return to the RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe

This free-to-attend event will feature state-of-the-art technological advances, facilitate strategic networking connections and examine key regulatory challenges. Professionals from around the world will showcase the latest developments in efficient maritime technology, including electric and hybrid marine transportation and propulsion solutions, shore charging equipment and emerging energy-efficient technologies.

This year’s Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe will also feature all-new educational stages where industry experts will present exclusive insights into the latest technologies driving progress toward the decarbonization of the world’s waterways. The Atlantic and Rhein stages will play host to leading solution providers helping to deliver progressive pathways toward future maritime sustainability.

Strategic partner IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) and show partners EOPSA (European Onshore Power Supply Association) and ZESTAs (Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association) will also make an exclusive joint announcement at this year’s event.

Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe

With over 150 world-class innovators, engineers and respected industry professionals in attendance, visitors will be able to browse and ask the experts on hand in-depth questions about the top technologies for the decarbonization of workboats, ferries, superyachts and other marine vessels, as well as port and harbor infrastructure. Leading companies due to appear include ABB, Rolls-Royce Solutions, HD Hyundai, Corvus Energy, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Vard, Lehmann Marine, Bosch Engineering, Echandia Marine, Zinus, Freudenberg e-Power Systems, Cavotec, igus and Wärtsilä.

A wealth of innovative technologies will be on show, including a high-power charging solution for fully electric ro-pax vessels, a Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (TS-RFPM) motor, a rapid modular Li-ion charger and a tailor-made propulsion system. The expo will also feature a number of world firsts, such as the first mobile ‘socket’ for shore power supply, the world’s first 77GHz FMCW marine radar and the first electric vessel to complete an intercontinental journey.

In particular, EST-Floattech is set to reveal its next-generation Octopus series, the next step in its modular battery technology for the maritime industry. Constantly improving both its hardware and software to build robust battery systems, it has continued to develop the Octopus platform, maintaining its focus on reliability, safety and seamless integration with the entire vessel. This launch aligns with the company’s vision for a more sustainable maritime industry. The official announcement will be made at the expo, and the team invites industry professionals to visit the booth to be among the first to discover what’s next in maritime energy storage solutions.

Lehmann Marine’s new 2C LFP battery system, which is yet to be officially named, will debut in prototype form at the expo. The first deliveries of this new energy storage solution are expected by mid 2026. Building on the success of its Cube system, Lehmann Marine aims to redefine maritime energy with this breakthrough in compact, safe and powerful battery technology.

At the show, EPTechnologies will showcase the latest in easy-to-install 24V and 48V solid-state batteries. Offering enhanced safety with reduced electrolyte content, thereby eliminating the risk of smoke, fire or explosions, the solid-state batteries provide up to 7,000 full charge cycles and 10,000 cycles at 80% capacity, making them economical and eco-friendly, with a built-in battery management system for compatibility with Victron chargers.

Genevos will be demonstrating its high-power HPM-250 fuel cell power system with e-fuel reformer compatibility for deep-sea decarbonization. This next-generation marine fuel cell enables fuel flexibility, helping deep-sea vessels to decarbonize their fleet with the option of e-fuel choice (hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, etc) to meet specific infrastructure and operational needs. The HPM-250 responds directly to fleet requirements for emissions reduction and high reliability by offering a modular, scalable solution for vessels and power conversion at higher efficiencies than combustion, thereby reducing operational costs and providing clear environmental benefits.

The Sinamics G220 from Siemens will also be on display. This high-performance variable-frequency drive is designed to make it more efficient to integrate clean power technology with best-in-class low harmonics. It features high protection (up to IP55), harsh environment operation with dedicated 3C3 circuit board coating and safe motor operation in ATEX environments. The system reduces energy consumption and speeds up time-to-market, while boosting productivity, safeguarding system availability and maximizing system flexibility. Digitalization guarantees optimal availability, high reliability and efficient operation.

Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe Conference

Taking place across the same three days as the exhibition, the Electric & Hybrid Marine Conference will feature more than 45 international speakers, delivering the latest in maritime innovation and technology and exploring the implications, consequences and opportunities of newly implemented regulation. The program will delve into the key issues, enabling in-depth discussions on commercial and strategic topics. Register here for your delegate pass today.

Nikos Vasileiadis, maritime consultant of strategy and energy transition at the International Marine Contractors Association, will give a presentation titled ‘Low GHG fuels for the offshore sector – operations and lessons learnt‘. This talk will provide an overview of what the offshore sector has learned about alternative and low-GHG fuels in the course of offshore operations and vessel design, and the implications for the wider maritime sector, which operates often in similar conditions and with similar constraints. The presentation by Vasileiadis, who supports the offshore sector’s efforts to lower its GHG emissions on behalf of the International Marine Contractors Association, will provide attendees with the opportunity to compare, contrast and distil the common lessons.

Among the esteemed specialists at the dedicated conference (rates apply) will be Andreas Ullrich, global market leader of passenger ships and ferries at Bureau Veritas. His ‘Electrification of passenger ships – pros and cons‘ presentation will explore the lifecycle and disposal of modern battery technology for passenger ships, both cruise and ferries, and discuss the various options that exist for recharging, including conventional engines or port-based charging systems, as well as battery swapping. The presentation will also explore the pros and cons of battery installations from sustainability and operational perspectives.

Antoon van Coillie, director of Zulu Associates/Anglo Belgian Shipping Company, will discuss his experience in the ‘Realising competitive zero emission inland shipping‘ presentation, in which he will explore the need for alternative propulsion, (ie non fossil fuel) to be economically competitive to realize a real transition to zero emission shipping. The presentation will show how Zulu Associates is implementing this with its innovative X barge, aided by the increasing costs of fossil fuel through ETS and the decreasing costs of alternative power systems.

Furthermore, the co-located, world-leading Autonomous Ship Expo and Conference will showcase the latest technologies to enable varying degrees of automation – from anti-collision assistance to fully autonomous operation –across the ship and cargo handling sector, and will feature a further 35+ world-leading experts.

Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards 2025

On top of all this, the Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards ceremony will once again be hosted at Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe to honor the world’s finest engineers, innovations and products in the electric and hybrid marine arena. The independent, international judging panel of industry experts and academics will announce the winners at 5:00pm on Day 1 of the expo. Find out more about those shortlisted here.

Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe 2025 is proud to partner with leading industry associations IEMA, ZESTAs, EOPSA, CharIN and MBF, which will share best practice, knowledge and insights to assist exhibitors and visitors in their electrification and decarbonization journeys.
