Nominations have opened for the 2023 Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards, which will feature a host of new categories to better reflect the scale of innovation across the maritime propulsion industry. The awards will be held at Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe in Amsterdam this June. As the marine propulsion industry continues to evolve and expand, the awards needed to do the same. So, in recognition of the growing scope of technical achievement across the marine industry, awards will now be presented in nine categories, which are detailed below.
Nominations for these new categories are now open, and will remain so until May 5, 2023:
Environmental achievement of the year – propulsion system design
This category will celebrate the latest and greatest breakthroughs in electric and hybrid propulsion technologies and system design.
Environmental achievement of the year – vessel design
This award will recognize achievements relating to improved vessel sustainability outside of propulsion systems.
Environmental achievement of the year – industry contribution
This award will recognize the contribution that a person, company or organization has made to improve environmental responsibility across the marine propulsion industry.
Concept vessel design of the year
This category will showcase the brightest and best in conceptual vessel innovation, highlighting ships with electric, hydrogen and hybrid propulsion systems.
New propulsion technology of the year
This award will recognize the most important breakthroughs in propulsion technologies from the last 12 months.
Vessel charging innovation of the year
This award will showcase the most cutting-edge onboard technologies relating to vessel charging.
Ports and harbor innovation of the year
This category will acknowledge achievements relating to maritime electrification taking place in ports and harbors.
Hydrogen technology breakthrough of the year
This award will focus specifically on hydrogen propulsion technology breakthroughs.
Marine industry supplier of the year
This award will champion the suppliers working to enable decarbonization across the marine industry.

A shortlist will be created from the nominations received and will be voted on by our independent, international panel of marine propulsion industry experts and journalists. The winners will be announced during Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe 2023.
